It has been a long time since i last updated my blog. =) How is everyone doing? How is everyone feeling after 3 months in this new year? Are you feeling drained from the many things that you need to do? Are you emotionally drained because of the many issues surrounding your life? Are you just feeling plain tired by the many things that seemed 'rightful and 'neccessary' in your life?

I dun have the miracle pill for you... if you are thinking that i would propose to have! =) But what i can point you to, i will...

Luke 10:38- 41 =>

38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.
39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. [1]
40But Martha was distracted by all [2] the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

41Martha, Martha,” [3] the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, [4] and it will not be taken away from her.”
Let's expound on this verse so that we can learn from it, and respond to God; eventually to see God moving in our lives. [pray for yourself]
Context: Jesus and His disciples are here to stay for dinner. Luke set the tempo by telling us the number of people in the place = 13 if we are talking of the closest core of Jesus' disciples, if we talk about all who believe Him and is discipled under Him, it would be more. Let's say there's at least 13 people. =) So... these men came into the house of Mary and Martha.
Think about it, M and M must have heard about the miracles that Jesus done and surely, they ought to believe that Jesus is who He claim He is-- the Son of the Livng God. Now, we have 2 person who ought to know who Jesus is at that time. Yet, we have 2 differing responses.
[1]: Mary sat at the feet of Jesus, and listened to what He said. You need to picture this-- a person sitting down at someone's feet, looking intently at the another person talking and of course, listening... NOT HEARING alone... Here, i propose that if there is only hearing, then there is not much interaction. When i listen to someone intently, i would not only 'hear', i would want and desire to understand what is being spoken. So, i would listen and ask appropriate questions to clarify. I want to learn about this person that i am so interested about. [You would if you are interested in someone, not just romantically alone... i hope hehe. =P]
So i propose that Mary must have asked questions and interacted with Jesus. I emphasize--- a 2-way communication. When we pray to God, Jesus, it cannot be one way thing. When we desire to hear from God through the Word of God, we cannot not ask question about what we read and hear! It is a form of interest! Are you interested about the Word of God that you are reading? As if you are reading and hearing from the Creator of Heaven and earth and all that we see? If so, i cannot imagine us reading the Word of God and not ask or interact with God!!!
The Word of God will not return to Him void, it will accomplish what is meant to acheive. My question is that, are our hearts set right so that the Word of God can simply fall into our hearts and be like medicine to our souls? Are we being stiffnecked like the children of God in the past, by hearing the word of God and not listening and obey? May i challenge everyone to see the word fo God for what it really is!! If God tells us not to give up meeting one another all the more we see the Day of the Lord coming, it means simply that! God did not give us a suggestion! He spoke through the author of Hebrews to 'shout' to us-- hey, you are not an island! you are never meant to live your life alone! its a united body of Christ! Dun you get it? You need to act like one! And more to act, to be like one! [Heb10:25]
We Need To Live According to the Revealed WIll of God in His Word!!!
Any disregard to the revealed Will of God through His word is sin! Simply put! You need to come with terms with the truth and choose to whether live by it or just let it pass by you!
Why live in sin and below par of what is God's WIll-- His Good and perfect plan??
[2]: whenever the Bible uses conjunctions, it meant there is a point to be made! Here, Martha was distracted, c.f. Mary. She was distracted by ALL the things she need to do! Hey! Hey! Does it sound like you, like us??? We are ALWAYS ON THE MOVE!! HEY! YO!! Can you hear yourselves here? Hey! Listen! The story took a turn! A 'BUT' is here to show you the contrast between Mary and Martha!
There are many things that we can and wish to do.... many times, even FOR GOD we say... MArtha was really concerned... She (i) would be making sure the corner of the house is clean... without cobweb... or.. or... that Matthew is having his need of bread filled, and she (i) goes to the kitchen and brings the food out... or or .... wine for all to drink... is the wine finished?? oh,... oh,.. she (i) need to get wine vask filled... Hey!!! Wait a second, it is like us!
I want to do this for God now... I want to go into minsitry now... God, i want to be a part of the work! I WANT TO DO SOMETHING.... WHY AM I NOT DOING ANYTHING?? Am i not worthy enough for You to use??? WHY AM I OBSCURE?
Hear this:
[3]: , . Jesus is calling you! He is calling your name! His affection is evident. When i call someone that has done so much for me, by working and busying him or herself... it a call of affection...
but... hear this that follows...
[4]: what is better than ALL the doing.... it's the time looking, fixing your eyes on Jesus...
Heb 12:2
2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
this is accomplish when we sit at the feet of Jesus and look up at Him! Do that!
Psalm 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
We need to be still, and that is again done by sitting at the feet of Jesus and listening to Him.
The Lord bless the reading of His word and may the Holy Spirit of God convict our hearts to higher obedience and surrender to Him!
