Commitment
Commitment is an ‘action of committing’. [Oxford] Commit is ‘to give in charge, entrust, and consign’. Hence to commit to something is to be in charge of something, to be entrusted with something. We commit to marriages, to one another’s’ spiritual growth—by being free to speak the truth in love to one another, commit to our studies—as one entrusted with the responsibility of studying, and here we are entrusted with the ministry of God here in Crusade.

How are we being committed to God in terms of our ministry? Are we being as committed to the God’s ministry as we are to our schoolwork? I fall away from the standards of really committing to the level of commitment I should with regard to the ministry that we are entrusted with. How about you? Is the commitment too much to bear from what we experienced last sem?

We are a team; P com is a team work. We need to view ourselves as a team entrusted with the ministry of increasing the prayer visibility of engine region. It is not going to be easy, in the light of the commitment we have to studies, the commitments will surely come, if not increase. Yet, I am appealing to you as the leader of the team, to rally our efforts together for this coming semester; to stick by one another in this journey of seeing fruit bearing, if we can see from the short time we have in ministry. Yet, I am appealing to you to see your ministry as P com, as not one small and insignificant, and to raise up in fortitude and determination. In fortitude and determination to see the Kingdom of God advancing in our term in ministry, for surely, we will move out from ministry in Campus Crusade and no longer have the chance to stand in the gap for those who have not known God and for the Kingdom of God to advance in Campus thru’ SCCC. Yet again, since we are still in campus, let’s make our stay in campus a difference—thru’ our undying heart to seek the Lord for the move of the Holy Spirit in the campus, not by might, not by power but by the Spirit [Zeh 4:6] and thru’ our meeting together and entrusted ministry, to pray unceasingly for the move of God in our limited time in campus as a pleasing fragrant worship as we worship God in spirit and in truth praying.

It is my personal appeal that we will not turn our eyes from God and cease to gather together to intercede for the move of God in our campus. It is the truth that ‘those who do not have the Son do not have life’[- 1 John 5: 12] and many friends within our midst are still without life. And how are we dealing with that? Are we not concerned? If we are concerned and working in their life thru’ our lifestyle, are we trying our effort to ‘convert’ them or are we recognizing that the Spirit of God is the One convicting? Yet it is written, ‘not by might, not by power, but by the Spirit’ [Zeh 4:6] It is the Holy Spirit of God that moves the hearts of men and women. We, human, but are God’s spokesmen and spokeswomen, entrusted with the Good News.

Here, you see the word ‘entrusted’, it is for those entrusted that we show our commitment and perseverance. This is but a chance for us to be partakers along with God in the harvest field in NUS! Far be it from us that we shall usurp the place of God in changing lives, and far be it from us that we turn ‘lukewarm’ to the fact that many are dying from their sins without people telling them about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Far be it from us that we shall cease from praying and stand in the gap for those people within our sphere of influence.

Let’s humble ourselves and seek the Lord that He will turn and heal our lands! [2 Chronicles 7:14] Let’s position ourselves as watchmen for the Kingdom of God, right here, right in this season, for the lives of many and the move of God’s Spirit!
